Dr. Cory Steiner, Superintendent of Northern Cass School District in North Dakota shared their system-change journey. While their small rural district had graduation rates of 97-98% and proficient state test scores of 94%, they realized their students weren’t getting the skills needed to make decisions after graduation. This led to a shift in the district from focusing on imparting knowledge to building skills, making kids “choice-ready” when they graduate.
